A Cluster Pays game replaces fixed win lines with groups of matching symbols that touch in the directions allowed by its rules. Many grid slots use horizontal and vertical adjacency, but the minimum group size and treatment of diagonals vary. The paytable is the final check for the version being reviewed.

The differences are visible in official examples. Reactoonz asks for five or more matching aliens on a 7x7 grid, while Aloha Cluster Pays uses cluster formations on a six-reel, five-row grid. Neither layout creates a universal rule for every cluster game.

Cluster Pays decides which connected symbols form a win. A cascade or tumble decides what happens after winning symbols are removed. The two often appear together, but a cluster label alone does not promise replacement symbols, repeated wins, or a multiplier sequence.

Jammin' Jars uses an 8x8 cascading grid and asks for five or more matching symbols. Sugar Rush adds marked positions and growing multipliers after winning tumbles. Those follow-on rules create very different sessions even though both begin with clusters.
